Unbelievable!!! Look how much the two baby leaves grew over one week! If you notice, what I called "growing pains" in one of the previous blogs seems to happen to all of the new leaves. The other leaves that used to have the wrinkling have flattened and thickened out to be beautiful strong leaves. I am curious to see if this new bent leaf will open up, or if it will soon lead the stem growing out of it to bend over the pot. The direction that it is bending, is the direction of the sun when it sits in my windowsill.
Did you know that change is not only hard for humans, but it is also hard for plants? Change for the Porcelain Flower plant is deathly. This blog is the story of my Porcelain Flower plant. Its story of perseverance, strength, and rebirth after moving 2,300 miles from its home. The plant which started as a parting gift, has become an inspiration for my everyday life. Join me in celebrating its beautiful comeback story.

This plant is the most resilient plant I have ever seen. Sometimes when we see strength and determination in the small things in life, we are encouraged ourselves to exhibit these qualities in our own lives. This plant continuously surprises me in its will to survive. I have photographed here the two baby leaves that we have been watching grow. They are still growing and are about to unfold into their own separate leaves. The most surprising thing seen in this photograph, though, are the two baby leaves emerging out from the bottom of this image. This is the spot where a leaf fell off months ago. Now, after having a few months pass by, two new leaves are going to grow out of where the one leaf fell. That is soooo amazing!!! Something in which I thought was so devastating has now become a situation where double the blessing has been delivered. It reminds me to continuously hold on to hope, even when life seems terrible, we never know the blessings that are in store for us if we hang in there.

This is the sprout of which two leaves are going to emerge. If observed closely, you can see that there is one larger leaf hovering over the other leaf. It is so beautiful to see two leaves embracing before they unfold into their separate leaves. I have observed that this plant has an overall hair, or fuzz, covering it. I have no idea why that is =) However, it is gorgeous to view this plant up close and see the two intimate leaves before they grow apart.
